Connection

You need Node.js 22+ and an assistant that supports local MCP servers. You sign in to your Shisha Market account in your browser.

1. Save the client

Download user.mjs from the GitHub release into a permanent folder on your computer. The source repository and direct Shisha Market download are also available. No additional npm packages are required.

2. Add the server to your assistant

Use node as the command and the downloaded file’s absolute path as its argument. For clients with JSON MCP settings:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "shisha-market": {
      "command": "node",
      "args": [
        "/full/path/to/user.mjs"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Replace the path with your own. On Windows, forward slashes work: C:/Users/name/mcp/user.mjs. If your client uses a different settings format, put the same command and argument in its MCP section.

3. Connect your account

  1. Tell the assistant: “Connect my Shisha Market account.”
  2. Open the link it gives you. Sign in by email, enter the eight-character code and approve access.
  3. Return to the agent and ask it to finish connecting.
  4. Ask it to show the connected account and check your email address.

The link expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, start a new connection. Do not give the agent the email sign-in code.

4. Prepare a listing

Provide an item description and selected photos. Ask the assistant to show you the draft first. Check the price, city, contact, text and photos, then confirm the consents and submission for moderation.

You can attach 1–6 JPG, PNG or WebP photos, up to 8 MB in total. Status and moderator feedback are available through the agent and your account.

Where access is stored

The personal credential is saved to ~/.config/shisha-market/user-auth.json. On POSIX systems, the file is created with owner-only access. The credential lasts up to 90 days and is not returned in MCP tool responses.

Revoke access in your Shisha Market account or ask the agent to disconnect. Connecting again after revocation requires another browser approval.
